ANIMAL-ASSISTED THERAPY AWARENESS MONTH
HELP SPREAD AWARENESS THIS OCTOBER
Canine Therapy Corps announced its support of the first-ever Animal-Assisted Therapy Awareness Month this October. The Chicago-based non-profit will host a series of events in an effort to increase awareness and understanding of the benefits of animal-assisted therapy.
Animal-Assisted Therapy Awareness Month aims To:
Increase awareness and understanding of the benefits of animal-assisted therapy;
Educate how therapy animals differ from comfort and service animals;
Raise funds to support Canine Therapy Corps’ goal-directed animal-assisted programming
Encourage dog owners to pursue training in order to become a certified dog team; and
Promote Canine Therapy Corps' programs and services to schools, hospitals, and social services serving individuals in need of psychosocial emotional support
