CANINE THERAPY CORPS WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION POLICY

Canine Therapy Corps (CTC) requires directors, officers, employees and volunteers to maintain the highest standard of ethics in conducting their duties and responsibilities. This Whistleblower Protection Policy is intended to encourage and enable employees and others to raise serious concerns internally so that CTC can address and correct inappropriate or unethical conduct.

All board members, officers, employees and volunteers have a responsibility to report concerns about violations of CTC policies or suspected violations of laws, rules, or regulations that govern CTC’s operations. No Retaliation CTC will not retaliate against any director, officer, employee or volunteer who has in good faith reported a practice or conduct relating to CTC on the basis of a reasonable belief that the practice or conduct: (a) violates a law, rule or regulation governing CTC’s operations, or (b) is clearly against public policy. Any director, officer, employee or volunteer who retaliates against someone because he or she has reported a suspected legal or ethical violation in good faith may be disciplined, up to and including dismissal from their volunteer or board position, or termination of employment.

CTC encourages employees to raise any concerns with their direct supervisor. If you are not comfortable speaking with your supervisor or you are not satisfied with your supervisor’s response, you are encouraged to speak with the Executive Director or any member of the Board of Directors. Volunteers should raise any concerns with their Program Leader. If you are not comfortable speaking with your Program Leader or you are not satisfied with your

Program Leader’s response, you are encouraged to speak with the Executive Director or any member of the Board of Directors. Supervisors and Program Leaders are required to report concerns about suspected legal or ethical violations in writing to the Chairman of the Board, who has the responsibility to investigate all reported complaints.

Confidentiality Concerns about suspected legal or ethical violations may be reported confidentially. Such reports will be kept confidential to the extent possible, consistent with the need to conduct an adequate investigation.
